Best overall months to dive: Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Nov, Dec

The Bahamas is a dispersed Atlantic archipelago whose principal dive trips are not interchangeable. Tiger Beach and Bimini centre on provisioned shark encounters; Nassau combines accessible walls, wrecks and a commercial reef-shark feed; Andros offers a quieter barrier-reef and blue-hole trip with thinner operator and medical infrastructure. Shark take is prohibited nationally, but sanctuary status does not mean every site is a no-take marine park. November through April is the most useful general planning window, although winter cold fronts can still stop exposed boats.
