Great Blue Hole
A near-circular sinkhole 318m across and 124m deep near the centre of Lighthouse Reef. The dive drops to about 40m along a wall to a limestone overhang hung with stalactites that formed when the cave was dry, tens of thousands of years ago. Bottom time is short and the water below the overhang is dark and low on life. Sharks patrolling the depths are the main animal encounter.
