Egypt's diving is overwhelmingly a Red Sea story, but it is not one uniform destination. Sharm combines Ras Mohammed, Tiran and northern wrecks; Dahab is a shore-diving and technical-training base; Hurghada and Safaga support high-volume day boats. Marsa Alam mixes house reefs and seagrass bays with advanced Elphinstone trips. The Brothers and the Deep South add remote walls, sharks and liveaboard crossings. Diving operates year-round, while water temperature, wind, crowding and offshore difficulty change substantially by region. Recent liveaboard losses make vessel-safety evidence an essential booking criterion.
