Vava'u Whale Swim Grounds
Not a fixed dive site. Licensed boats search the channels and open water around the island group, then drop a maximum of four swimmers plus a guide near resting mothers and calves. Swimmers stay at least 5m from whales; vessels stay 10m off for pick-up and drop-off. No duck-diving, no flash, no scuba. Days run up to seven hours and blank days happen.
